Narrow Thinking, Narrow Life

Narrow Thinking, Narrow Life

“Hatred is the vice of narrow souls; they feed it with all their littleness, and make it the pretext of base tyrannies.”
-Honore de Balzac

How do you want to live?

How do you want your life to feel?

Where do you want to spend your time?

This quote by Honoré de Balzac definitely struck a chord with me. Then, once delving into some research about him, I came to find that he was a French Novelist and Playwright (May 1799 – 18 August 1850) — fitting since writing is another way I love to spend my time. Honoré was a keen observer of life and was one of the founders of Realism in European Literature. I think that his quote spoke volumes during his era and is still very prevalent in our present day.

Hatred hurts you. It creates dis-ease in the body and a disconnect with the world around you.

I am an enthusiast for “self-care” and in that journey discover where dis-ease is held in your body and work towards easing it or eliminating it completely — don’t worry, it CAN be done. Do more things that bring you joy and stop doing the things that make you feel bad. Discover the base root of hatred within you and work towards understanding the true issue. Everyone is different. Being more self-aware takes time, patience, and persistence.

Be kind and gentle with yourself as well as others. Allow the pain of hatred to flow out of your body and replace it with love, joy, happiness, peace, self-awareness, and self-care.
